A Journey Through Flare-ups and Healing

Eczema has been a condition that has been a part of my life since I was 15. When eczema first appeared in my life at the age of 15, it marked the beginning of a prolonged struggle with the condition. Those initial days were perplexing and challenging as I grappled with the sudden onset of itching, redness, and discomfort. Seeking relief, I ventured into various treatments, with oral and topical steroids becoming integral necessities of my daily routine.

During my late teens and military service, I vividly remember the ongoing challenge of dealing with eczema. It was tricky to balance military duties with managing my skin condition, requiring resilience and adaptability. The physical demands of military life, combined with exposure to various environmental factors and stress, added complexity to managing my eczema. Handling both military responsibilities and the ongoing battle with eczema became a significant aspect of my life during that time.

At the age of 28, I moved to New Zealand after getting married, and to my surprise, the eczema miraculously disappeared. For more than ten years, I experienced a remarkable breakthrough from dealing with that irritating skin condition.

At age 41, I came back to Singapore due to a major disaster in New Zealand, my eczema flared up again. Trying to find relief, I turned to BRT Bio Resonance Therapy as an alternative treatment. After nine months of consistently attending the therapy, dealing with numerous outbreaks, and spending a good chunk of money, the eczema finally disappeared once again.

Contrary to common belief about Eczema, I did manage to recovered from eczema. I immersed myself in sports, starting from running a modest 2.4km, and disciplined myself to eventually complete six full marathons. I hit the gym regularly and ventured into combat sports like MMA, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and Krav Maga. Being free from eczema allowed me to fully enjoy these activities and incorporate them into my routine. This shift wasn’t just about overcoming a skin problem; it gave me the confidence the power of determination and taking charge of my health and fitness.

During the Covid period, somewhere in 2021, my skin condition worsened after taking the 3rd booster shot. I revisited BRT- Bio Resonance Therapy and explore various treatments like the TCM – Traditional Chinese Medicine. I turned to western treatments and visited the National Skin Centre.

As my skin condition worsened, it began affecting my sleep, work, and overall quality of life. The impact extended to my mental health, restricting my ability to engage in the physical sports I once enjoyed. My overall health took a hit. Enduring a nightly struggle with only 2 hours of sleep for several months significantly diminished my quality of life, especially considering my accustomed lifestyle spanning over two decades.
